From my garden to you.

It has been a cold and rain week, but yesterday evening it was nice enough to spend sometime outside. I was wondering our yard with camera in hand and took some pictures of these great lilacs. Just thought I would share with you. We have enjoyed the comments left on our blog and on friday we will be drawing for the journal, so don't delay scroll down to the post labled "Idea" and post a simple comment. Can hardly wait until friday! Myra and I are going to be working together and I will get her to draw a name and we will contact you. Until then enjoy the flowers...

Monday, Monday

Well it was back at it! So much to do so little time... it feels. So here I sit 9:00pm kids are in bed and I reflect on what was accomplished today and what's on tomorrows agenda. Today was mostly about the new patterns, emailed copy to the printer. Then Myra and I discussed our upcoming trip to Vancouver BC. We are doing two schoolhouse presentations on our new fabric collection and patterns. Then there is a new program we are developing for spring 2008 and RJR has asked us to design a few more quilts for them! Sometimes it's hard to keep up the excittment and the pace, but it has been really excitting re-focusing this past week and remembering why I love this... creating & designing, marketing and planning ahead.

p.s just a few more days until that draw!! Thanks to the ladies who have made their comments and entered the draw.

Out of the blue

Today was another cloudy day, but we found a little piece around the corner from Myra's house. Today we spent the day editing, and photographing a new pattern that we designed using the RJR handspray fabrics. Everything was looking OK, but we still needed a great picture. What we needed was Nick. We grabbed the quilt, and headed to a friend's house, and found the perfect model. Nick was cute and fun, and he made the picture alive. You will be seeing the real cover of this pattern very soon, along with a few more that we have been working on! until next time...

Idea!

I had a little idea today. A few days ago under the "Embelished" post, I shared my little fabric covered journals. Well, today I decided that who ever posts a comment under this post will be entered in a draw and I will custom make a journal cover for the winner! What do you think of that? All you have to do is make a comment and I will put the names in a draw and "ta-da" there will be a winner chosen. I will give you a couple of days to post your comments and then I will contact the winner. Good luck... AND don't be shy, this will be fun!!
How Cute is this?

This lady bug quilt is a new pattern that made it's debut at Spring International quilt market in Salt lake City. This little girl was also the model on our Daisy baby pattern last year.

Lucky for us, Jorja's mom loves to shop for her little girl, so it was no surprise that she had an outfit to match!

It was so cute how she took to this quilt, she cuddled and snuggled with out any promting. I took 97 pictures and you will see our favorite pics on the pattern cover!

I really enjoy taking pictures and we were a little nervous about how she would cooperate, being almost 2 years old! But we had a lot of very cute photo's to pick from. Thanks Anita & Jorja.

Stay tuned for the pattern release in June.

P.S There is also a kids sized quilt pattern too, AND we didn't forget about the boys out there either...

Embelished.

Well I added a few things, added ribbon and my monogram to the green and ocean cover. For the "strawberries & cream" color scheme I went to my scapbooking cupboard and found the flower. I add a jewel to the center. I like it hope you do too. Still thinking about a few other possibilities...wish me luck.

Okay so I was thinking about those fabric covered notebooks...and I decided they were missing something. I am working on embelishing them today. I will post the finished product tomorrow.

I Played today...

and this is what I can up with. I like to cover journals with our fabrics, I have one from the Love Joy Peace collection and I had already made one for Bohemian Rhapsody, but decided today to have a "Play Day". A day to expieriment and create. This was fun and quick and a great way to spend an hour! What I realized today is that Bohemian is still full of possiblities.

Here was the first one I made. I sewed in a piece of the salvage, as a keepsake.

p.s You will be seeing another fun project in Quilts and more this fall (not a quilt!).

Finished!

It is almost midnight and it's done. Here is a picture of it in progress this afternoon. This is a new pattern, coming soon. Sherbet Baby features RJR's cotton supreme collection and we have designed three patterns using various color schemes. Myra is working on an Amish Sampler, sounds good doesn't it. We will keep you posted...as always. Nighty, Night!!

Hope to see you.

This weekend is the annual Barnswallow quilt show and spring craft sale at the Morden Recreation center. Myra and I will have a couple of tables with our Bohemian Rhapsody fabrics and a few of our other products available. We have much of our magazine work from this year displayed in the quilt show. We hope if you live close that we will see you there!
